X is the protocol, while Xfree86 is the implementation of the standard.
it&#8217;s now doing the same as Motif, Xorg do.
	2. X vs X11R6
X11R6 means X Protocol version 11 Release 6 
	3.XServer vs Window Manager(Kde, Gnome, etc.)
WM is not part of XServer.
	4.Gnome/Kde is not just a Window Manager.
